Impressions Direct, a start-up company based in Greenwich, has installed a six-colour Indigo Ultra-Stream digital offset colour press.
Director Peter Croft said: "Ive been looking at the development of digital printing, and thought the time was right to explore the direct mail market with digital printing. Im intending to test the market here, and then install other presses in locations across the country."
The company produces direct mail, cards and calendars for a range of clients, including advertising agencies, publishers and finance companies. Set up in March this year by Croft, formerly of Vertis in Croydon, the company now has four staff and an estimated annual turnover of 500,000.
The company has also set up an interactive website that allows clients to log in and correct proofs online.
"With digital printing we do lots of little jobs involving new data, such as price and date changes. Using the website we can do lots of jobs quickly without the extra costs. Its very important for us to be able to offer our clients something more than just digital printing," said Croft.
