Amicus members accepted the pay offer of a 3.75% increase, effective from 1 January. Around 170 technical, managerial and clerical staff, attached to the unions MSF section were the first to accept the deal. The 180 press manufacturing staff, attached to Amicus AEEU division, followed them.
Goss Graphic Systems had initially offered staff a 2% increase backdated to October last year, with a 1% increase for 2004, which was rejected. Staff held a series of one-day stoppages as well as an overtime ban.
Goss Graphic Systems director of marketing David Stamp said that he was pleased that there was agreement and that things were back to normal.
