The Kent-based printer said it needed a high-quality finishing device for its personalised Christmas card service, which took orders for 4m Christmas cards last year.

New Perspective owner Dan Dickey claimed that the DC-645 is ideal for greeting card production, which requires 4-side trimming and a centre crease, as it enables cutting, slitting and creasing all in a single pass.

It is these qualities that led Dickey to declare the DC-645 "the best equipment available to a digital printer today – quick set-up, fully automatic and a flat paper path".

Dickey claimed that the DC-645 allows customers to be as creative as they wish, as it enables New Perspective to "adapt operations without compromising turnaround times".

New Perspective has a strong relationship with Duplo, as it was the first UK company to install Duplo's original multi finisher, the DC-545.

Commenting on Duplo's latest device, Dickey said: "We particularly like the job recognition barcode readers on the DC-645, which will enable us to finish multiple applications in one stack with no manual intervention required to change between finishing jobs, giving our customers extremely consistent turnaround times."

The DC-645 offers up to six slits, 15 cuts and 10 creases in one pass, and has a processing speed of up to 26 sheets per minute.
