Ford Land a subsidiary of the company that handles all its non-core operations moved over to the new software following a review of how it could improve its print services.
Improved document consistency, reduced costs, lower inventory and the ability to provide a one-stop shop for Ford were behind the move.
"We wanted to be seen as a core business and ensure our future," said property services manager John Robins, who oversaw the project. "We didnt want people to have to go elsewhere for any part of their print jobs."
DocWorks is a PDF-based workflow that allows Ford staff to submit jobs to the site remotely and to check their proofs locally before printing. It allows jobs to be routed to the most suitable printer available in the print room using what Oc calls a "green button approach".
