Hall was previously managing director at Astron Document Solutions and has had other senior management roles at Polestar, Lockheed Martin and British Aerospace.
"He has a wealth of experience in running a major operation in this sector and we look forward to utilising his knowledge," said DSTi chief executive Tim Delahay.
"Over the next 18 months we will see a real shift from monochrome to full colour in the transactional marketplace," added Hall.
Delahay added that DSTi had some "high-profile business wins" in the pipeline.
