The three-year contract was awarded to publishing house Cedar following a three-stage pitch with eight other companies.
The contract is to handle the printing of customer literature and non-terminal commercial activity. A dedicated joint venture company between Cedar and Eurostar Eurostar Media has been established, which will create, sell and oversee print projects.
Eurostar Media sales director Ben Williamson said the contract would not affect existing deals covering tickets and wallets, or existing deals that Eurostar has with its printers. "What it will mean is extra work for the printers we [Cedar] deal with such as St Ives and Artisan," said Williamson.
Items to be produced include train wraps, seatback inserts, at-seat leafleting and meal tray cards. Cedar originally saw Eurostar last August to discuss selling its on-board media, after which the publishing company was invited to tender for the contract.
London-based Cedar Communications produces customer magazine titles for clients including BMW, British Airways and Tesco.
