Redactive Media in contract review

Redactive Media is to shake up its print roster by reviewing its one-year contracts for 2005.

The contract publishing house, which took its print buying in-house after ending its contract with Centurion, has invited its current suppliers onto the roster to produce publications such as People Management, Recruiter and FM World.

"This move helps us to keep things fresh and if we're ever not totally satisfied then we look at ways of improving," said production manager Gary Smith.

Companies competing for the range of contracts include current suppliers Southernprint and Wyndeham Heron as well as Polestar, Cooper Clegg and Stark Druck.

FM World is moving from Stephens & George, and companies invited to tender for the contract are McCorquodales, Gemini Press, Wyndeham Grange and Stones the Printers.

Wyndeham Heron has picked up the contract to print Leadership Focus for Redactive. The deal is due to start in January and Wyndeham picked up the publication from St Ives Roche.

"We went for Heron because they we were looking for companies who could work to delivery times that we wanted," added Smith.

Smith also revealed Redactive's best performing supplier is Artisan Press. The news comes after the publisher compared the performances of its suppliers on the quality of print, finishing, distribution and customer service.

Artisan prints Legion and Accounting Technician, the Association of Accounting Technicians title.

This summer, Redactive moved the pre-press production of Legion and Leadership Focus to Atelier's Digital Publishing Desktop.
