So far, 14 of Emap’s production staff have signed up to Evolve, a course which trialled last year and involves the use of iPods to store course information.
Richard Hunt, manufacturing director at Emap, developed the course in conjunction with Polestar.
Hunt said: The aim is to develop specialist production people situated within each business that can cross link and share information, not just to other production people but to editorial, publishers and each brand and business.
Topics covered in the course include pre-press, offset and the environment.
Polestar’s Print Dynamics software will be used to illustrate these processes.
