East Kent Foiling brings lamination in-house to offer 'whole' post-press package

Finishing specialist East Kent Foiling (EKF) has moved into lamination with a new D&K Jupiter B2 thermal laminator.

The Canterbury-based, £100,000-turnover company previously offered only foil blocking, embossing and die-cutting, but has now decided to offer its customers what it claims is a complete post-press package.

Jess Ryder, operations manager at the three-staff business, said: "There are only so many times that you unload your rivals' vans before you decide you can do it yourself. Before [the purchase], work was sent to the laminator and then onto us to foil or emboss – now we can do the whole thing."

The £30,000 machine was installed at EKF on Wednesday (30 September). The company is offering the service to printers in the local area who have been sending work into London to be laminated, but it is also hoping to bring in work from further afield.
