The new roll sheet feeder, developed with US-based Mikkelsen Graphic Engineering (MGE), offers a productivity boost of up to 36% on the manual loading i-XL.
The autofeed system, based on MGE's i-cut autofeeder, is linked to the i-XL by a belt-feed system which allows the products to be die-less cut roll to sheet, roll to roll or sheet to sheet.
In conjunction with the i-cut vision control and i-script workflow launched last month the latest development adds label production to the i-XL's work mix of packaging, sign and display products.
The autofeeder can handle any products that the i-XL previously could, including products up to 25mm thick all the way down to labelstocks.
The roll sheet feeder is available in configurations to suit both the 1,680mm wide 20 series and 2,200mm 40 series.
It will be shown for the first time at Fespa in Munich, but the firm has already installed the first autofeeder models in the US and has taken over five orders for the system in Europe.
