Durst wins Nordic Swan award for Rho Roll Ink

Durst is claiming a first after its Rho Roll Ink gained the coveted Nordic Swan Ecolabel.

The Italian-manufacturer of photographic and inkjet printers said it was "the first and only digital ink" to be approved to the environmental standard. Its inks are VOC free.

"This accreditation will be very important for our customers, and our customers' customers," said Matt Ashman, sales manager at Durst's UK operation.

Durst also hopes to capitalise on the fact that Rho inks have in addition attained Toy Standard EN17 Part 3, which limits the concentrations of certain heavy metals in coatings that will be used for products aimed at children, opening up opportunities for users to target markets such as graphics for nurseries.
