The SRA2 cutter, which replaces the ten-year-old mechanical 7228-95, has a maximum cutting width of 720mm and height of 80mm. It uses a hydraulic clamp, and mechanical cutting action.
"The main advantage of the hydraulics is that the action is a lot faster, so it can make more cuts per minute. And the clamp pressure is infinitely variable, which makes it much easier to handle delicate digital work," said Duplo UK wholesale manager Tony Hills.
According to the firm, the new 7228 has a cycling time up to 50% faster than its predecessor. Standard features include an electronic backgauge that can store 40 programs, each with 26 steps, and air beds on the front and rear tables.
The firm, which picked up the Ideal and Eurofold agencies earlier this month, will unveil pricing for the 7228 at the April show.
