The Titanium 330-R was launched at the Fespa Global Print Expo in Munich last month, which is where Pontypridd-based DecTek signed the deal for the new machine.
Scheduled for delivery in August, it will be supplied by International Graphic Supplies (IGS), the distributor for the UK and Ireland of the Titanium kit, which is manufactured by JWEI.
After the launch demonstration at Fespa, DecTek managing director Mike Beese said “this is a real game changer for the digital label market”. He then quipped to IGS managing director Peter Flynn: “That’s it, I’ve now ordered eight cutters from you – enough is enough!”
JWEI’s first digital label finishing line, the fully automatic RSF-330 is a 330mm-wide system that uses QR-codes to identify and automatically set-up cutting and cold lamination settings between jobs.
It uses eight cutting heads and cuts at up to 12m/min with a maximum cutting size of 330x1,000mm. Waste is automatically removed while other automated features include deviation correction, positioning, continuous cutting, sheeting, slitting, and winding.
“We could not have wished for a better first customer site for the Titanium 330-R than DecTek, we have an excellent business and personal relationship with the team,” said Flynn.
The machine costs £79,000 from IGS, including delivery, installation, training, and twelve months’ parts and labour warranty.
DecTek, which also runs Canon and Ricoh digital presses and Duplo and Vivid finishing kit alongside its bank of Titanium cutters, also recently installed an HP Latex printer with white ink and an Epson DTG device.
