Intense speculation surrounds the future of Bradford-based consumables and flexo specialist Dantex.
A number of sources have told PrintWeek that the company is up for sale in parts or as a whole.
Openshaw has been linked to the firm by several different sources.
I really cannot comment on this, said Tony Halker. Its only very recently that we bought Grafi Holland its too soon to acquire another company. Weve bought a lot this year.
Several sources have told PrintWeek that the two firms are in discussion, although the exact details of the deal could not be confirmed.
We dont comment on rumour, said Dantex financial director David Powell. Owners Jerry and Richard Danon were unavailable for comment.
Dantex has lost several senior staff this year including technical director Brian Clegg and sales director Keith McQueen. It has also lost other members of its sales team.
It has a strong presence in flexo in the UK and Europe, especially in Germany, including the distribution of Toray products. This fits well with Openshaws move into flexo and Europe.
