Dainik Jagran and Dinamalar in tie-up with Yahoo

Tie-ups between local language and regional newspapers are growing manifold. This year Yahoo tied up with Tamil news daily Dinamalar and in 2010 it started its partnership with Dainik Jagran.

Ramkumar Narayanan, vice president, global product management, emerging markets and small business, Yahoo said: "We have local language tie-ups in Hindi and Tamil and we will look out for potential tie-ups in other Indian languages including Bengali, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Marathi."

These tie-ups will help the local language newspapers to reach a wider audience and also help them connect with Indians globally.

Adimoolam Lakshimipathy, director, Dinamalar, said: "This partnership will help us connect globally with all Tamil speaking people worldwide."

Arun Tadanki, managing director, Yahoo! India said: "We understand that regional language content is largely driven by entertainment and news, both fundamental strengths for Yahoo!. This year we aim to leverage Dinamalar’s Tamil language experience and editorial strengths to expand our offering to the Indian audience."
