The move is planned for 19 April and the company will transfer from its St Andrews Road premises to Mirror Colour Print. The publication is part of the Trinity Mirror group and a 30-day consultation process has started at the firm.
According to Trinity Mirror, the news follows a review of its press capabilities and a growing demand for colour from advertisers and readers. These demands could not be met at the Aspley plant and the departure to Oldham will result in an increase in pagination.
Printing at Oldham will transform our ability to meet those market needs and help us grow our titles more effectively, said Examiner News & Information Services managing director John Griffith.
