The company said that it is currently reviewing its two print sites in Scotland, at Cardonald south of Glasgow and Blantyre near Hamilton, where there are likely to be greater opportunities for collaboration and integration.
However, Trinity Mirror has said that it is too early into the review process to make firm commitments to either sites future.
The group said that its 40-plus printing presses operate using anything from 25% of their capacity to 90% at peak times and it is looking to match demand with capacity.
In the year to 28 December 2003 Trinity Mirrors turnover rose 0.5% to 1.095bn, while pre-tax profit before exceptional items increased 11% to 172.5m.
This Wednesday (3 March) the group launched 3am, a celebrity magazine which builds on the Daily Mirrors gossip column. From Monday the price of the Daily Mirror will rise 3p to 35p.
