Critical Mail Continuity Services (CMCS) is celebrating 25 years in business.

The Droitwich business has been part of Paragon Group since 2021, when Paragon acquired RR Donnelley’s European Global Document Solutions business.

RR Donnelley had owned CMCS since 2005 when it bought it to add to its Astron portfolio.

CMCS offers a range of business continuity services including print and mail, inbound mail handling and sortation, warehousing and hand fulfilment.

Kit includes cut-sheet and continuous printers and automated enclosing, and the site has the capacity to produce 8m page images a day, and 2m envelopes.

CMCS also holds a raft of related quality, security and cyber accreditations at its 2,973sqm secure site, which has an additional 280sqm office for the use of clients in case of a disaster such as flood or fire, or some other disruption to their usual operations.

“The trust that clients have in CMCS means that, when an issue arises, one phone call provides the peace of mind that all the right people and processes are in place to keep their business operating,” the firm stated.

Site director Ben Croot has worked at the company for more than 20 years.

He said: “I started at CMCS during my gap year from university in 2001 and have been hooked ever since.

“The business has gone through countless changes over the 22 years I’ve been here, which has always kept us competitive within the markets we operate in, and means that our people are always learning new skills as every day is different.

“I thoroughly enjoy the work we do here at CMCS, and long may it continue.”

Sales and client services director Peter Marshall said that clients had turned to the firm for support “right from the start” of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Being able to help them fulfil their SLAs during Covid was testament to the close working partnerships we’ve established, and the robust testing that we undertake in preparation for such an event. It’s the confidence and trust that our clients have in us that has enabled the company to reach this magnificent 25-year landmark.”

The firm employs 25 with many long-serving employees resulting in an average length of service of 16 years. A team celebration has already taken place.

CMCS claims a market-leading position in recovery and business continuity services and had sales of £9.8m in the year to 30 June 2022.
