Executive directors Ian Foyster, David Browne and Peter Milton bought the book printer in Beccles, Suffolk, and enlisted Mike Cross, owner of nearby Micropress Printers, to its board.
"We'll challenge the larger plcs by becoming a credible alternative," said Foyster.
Within eight months, the firm plans to invest 1.5m in new binding machinery for its Muller Martini kit and add an extra 2m to its 10m annual turnover within a year.
