Ciconi has become the first company in the UK to install the Riso Valezus T1200.

The Warboys, Huntingdon-based business, which specialises in design, print, mail, information and data management, took delivery of the full-colour cutsheet inkjet printer in the lead up to the Christmas period. It has joined the company’s existing ComColor 7150 and 9150 devices from Riso.

The recently launched single-engined Valezus T1200 offers print speeds of 165ppm and is equipped with a 4,000-sheet capacity feeder and stacker.

Ciconi managing director Elisabeth Glasper said: “The T1200 is the perfect solution for both short and long-run transactional printing, combining excellent cost performance with the flexibility to meet the varying job demands that large continuous feed printers find difficult to handle efficiently.

“This device is ideal for many reasons, including higher duty cycles, low maintenance requirements, consistent colour production without regular calibration, and lower running costs than more traditional and toner-based printers.”

She added: “We have migrated work from toner devices to the Risos already as it is more cost-efficient for our company and clients alike. The low total cost of ownership of the Riso also makes the numbers stack up and has helped us win contracts.”

Ciconi can now print more than 200,000 sheets a day at peak times across all its Riso devices.

Tatsuo Murakami, managing director at Riso UK, commented: “The challenge for any company in the communications space is how best to consistently deliver efficient, cost-effective printed materials that make an impact and that clients love.

“Ciconi is a great example of a business that sees the opportunities and finds innovative ways to seize them in a way that benefits them and their customers. At Riso, we are proud to have played a part in the company’s successes.”

Ciconi works with clients in sectors including charity and education, as well as utilities companies.
