Chennai welcomes its first Kodak Nexpress 2100

Harvis Technologies has become the first commercial printing house in Chennai to install Kodak's Nexpress 2100 five-colour digital press.

Established in 1996, Harvis Technologies provides a combination of designing, pre-press solutions, digital printing, offset printing, variable data printing and post-press solutions.

Managing director MLS Lakshmikanth said: "The Kodak Nexpress 2100 digital production colour press delivers unique advantages, specifically designed to meet our customers' challenging demands.

"The fifth colour station can print watermark applications, digital texturing and cover 82% of the Pantone colour gamut without the need for special ordering or mixing.

"We hope to expand into profitable and new digital print opportunities, as well as attract new customers who require short-run colour jobs."

He added: "We wanted to develop a new market for short-run jobs to impress the print buyers by personalisation.

"Initially we had plans for starting an offset printing house but during our visit to Ipex we saw the Nexpress and changed our plans to establish a digital printing company."

The Nexpress 2100 enables short-run applications from colour brochures and inserts to direct mail, on a variety of substrates.

It also supports special applications such as personalisation, variable data printing and transpromo.
