B&W secures Polish Versa sale

Wide-format cutting machine manufacturer Blackman & White (6-T110) has sold a 3.2m Versa Tech textile laser cutter to an unnamed Polish customer at Fespa.

The recently launched 3.2m machine is a wider version of the 1.6m device that the business originally launched at Fespa 2013. A 2m version of the machine is also available.

The device is a new addition to the firm’s established MasterCut range that offers crease, kiss-cut, router, drag knife, oscillating knife and driven rotary knife capabilities all on a single conveyorised or flatbed heavy duty table.

Customers can purchase one tool initially and then add others over time. The machine is able to carry out long production runs on heavy-duty materials such as acrylics and Dibond while its 100w laser is well suited to textile cutting.

“Fespa marks our first showing of the 3.2m model outside the UK. A lot of customers are excited by the opportunity to laser cut as well as knife and rout cut on the one machine,” said managing director Alex White.

“We’re trying to make a real push into the textile market to say that this solution cuts and seals the edge of the fabric. For textile printing most people are interested in this new 3.2m model, so it’s already opened up a lot of new doors for us.”
