Walthamstow-based screen printer Bovince has been awarded a DTI grant to develop its existing practice of continuous improvement and flexibility.
The award has yet to be determined, but could be as much as 50,000.
Managing director Peter Rosen said he hoped the firm would become the case study for the industry.
"Were heavily into the environment, quality, social issues and improvements throughout the workplace. Its also important for our employees to get the right kind of work/life balance."
The grant, awarded to 37 companies from all business sectors, came from the governments Partnership Fund, which aims to develop partnerships at work. It has paid out 3.9m since it was established in 1999.
Bovince has also become the first printing company to receive a GoodCorporation Certificate from the Institute of Business Ethics.
