Big ideas and relevant trends at Pamex

PrintWeek India profiles the exhibitors and finds out what is hot at the four-day show in Delhi.

Ricoh India and Heidelberg India have booked a combined space of 900 sq/mtrs and will make an announcement of the tie-up between the two companis to sell Ricoh range of products in India. All the major digital manufacturers like HP, Xerox, Canon, Konica Minolta, Kodak have booked huge stalls.

Canon India

After acquiring Oce last year, Canon India early this year announced the launch of a staggering 53 product lines as part of their combined portfolio in the digital and wide-format segments. At Pamex, Canon will showcase the Oce Arizona 360 GT, Oce Colorwave 600 crystal, Oce Colorwave 300, IPF 8300 and the star product of its stand at the recently concluded Ipex South Asia, the ImagePress  7010. According to Canon, the areas for potential growth for Canon large-format printing equipment is the photo segment and the architectural CAD /CAM segments. The GIS market is also picking up steam where Canon printers are used to map seismic data, terrain maps etc.

The firm will showcase a 20-inch UV coater with demonstrations; additionally on display will be Bacciottini Auto creaser; Cyklos 450SA creaser; roll laminator; an A-3 size folding machine; the business card-cutter; 520A, the manual paper-cutter, Tacho perfect binding system and a foil fuser. The stand will also have videos on display for the index-cutter, automatic wiro-closer, index-cutter from Onglematic, Photofast and casemaking machines from Samed, and samples of Opus machines.

KMI will be showcasing Konica Minolta’s MFP and colour solutions along with mid- and high-production machines. At the show, KMI will demonstrate Konica Minolta’s C6000 and mid-producton C452 along with office machine BH 164.


Kodak India

Kodak India has the responsibility of printing the PamexDaily, published by PrintWeek India in association with AIFMP and Tafcon. It will demonstrate that the five-color NexPress SX colour production press adds versatility of its own by printing not just additional colour in the form of a new six-micron dry ink, but also a clear coating that crease an unusual dimension effect. Also on the Kodak stand will be live demos of its unified workflow solution, the Trendsetter platesetter and Approval NX digital colour imaging system.


Monotech Systems

The Chennai-based print supply specialist will unveil the Scodix digital embossing system. The new machine, according to Monotech, is a unique post-press equipment, which can help printers multiply the value of print with exquisite special effects. Monotech will also demonstrate Konica Minolta’s new flagship among its digital presses, the C8000, the C70hc, the C1200 monochrome printer. It will also showcase range of platesetters from BasysPrint, Amsky, Screen and wide-format Pixeljet and Canon printer.

After a good showing at Ipex South Asia, Ricoh with the largest stall and a likely Heidelberg India partnership announcement, is sure to relish its time at the show. On the stand, Ricoh will display its flagship Pro C901/901s, the newly launched C751 and IP5000 Infoprint machine. "The IP5000 is a game-changing inkjet platform that offers vibrant colour, monochrome and MICR capabilities," says Avijit Mukherjee, business head, production printing business group for Ricoh India.
