Biddles general manager for digital Bob Loader said the main reason for the installation was to increase the companys capacity.
The digital printing side is growing so fast that it is becoming a larger percentage of our work, said Loader.
The Infoprint, which was installed in the Kings Lynn factory at the end of last year has been running extremely well. Loader said he envisaged the digital print side would be one of continued expansion, and would not rule out further digital press purchases.
The Infoprint includes integrated finishing that enables the online production of 16pp folded sections.
Biddles has a wide range of presses from digital and sheetfed to web and the Infoprint 4000 will work alongside the companys existing Nipson Varypress and Xerox DocuTechs.
Biddles specialises in the production of monochrome and two-colour limp and cased books, producing over 100 titles per week for clients ranging from large publishing houses to first-time publishers.
