BGP snaps up former Prinovis Liverpool UK sales director Ross Borton

Web offset giant BGP has hired the former UK sales director of Prinovis Liverpool as a sales director.

Ross Borton took up the role at the Bicester site yesterday (17 August) after he left his former position at gravure giant Prinovis in March this year.

Borton will report directly to Steve Palmer, BGP group sales director and managing director of BGP's sister company Stones the Printers.

David Holland, chief executive of parent company Goodhead Group, said: "I've admired Ross for a long time and with his background he'll bring professionalism and experience to BGP."

According to Holland, the company has been building a sizeable team to add to its strength in the marketplace. He added that nobody had left the company as a result of Borton's appointment.

Borton joined Prinovis in 2007 from Poole-based web printer Southernprint, where he was sales director. He was recruited to Southernprint after stints at Gruner+Jahr, now part of Prinovis, and the National Magazine Company, where he was group operations manager.

BGP is the largest single site web offset facility in the UK and it operates in the publishing, commercial, directory and financial markets.
