"Variable data print is a rapidly growing market and an area that bezier has invested in heavily in the last couple of years," said Terry Boucher, the operations director at the Poole site.
The 100ppm press, which replaced a DocuColor 2060, finished commissioning on Tuesday (26 April). "It's signed off for production and is going live as we speak," said Boucher (pictured left with bezier Poole managing director Gary Knights).
The spend was driven by customers' needs for high-quality front-and-back registration. "Our markets need a very high class of work," Boucher added.
The firm will use the press for the production of both variable text and image jobs for its customer base of blue-chip manufacturers and retailers.
The bezier group has turnover touching 50m and employs over 500 staff across five sites in Wakefield, Bristol, Poole, Marlow and London.
