Banner hires ex-Communisis marketing services head McPhillips

Banner Managed Communication (BMC) has appointed former Communisis marketing services director Barry McPhillips to the new role of creative & multichannel solutions director.

McPhillips, who has spent the past 18 months providing consultancy services to a range of B2B and B2C brands, will join the senior management team at BMC and head up its UK and European creative services hubs, including several teams on-site with clients.

His appointment reflects the steep rise in client demand for digital and multi-channel solutions, as well as Banner's long-term strategy to enable clients to manage all their outsourced customer communications through a single provider.

Catherine Burke, managing director of BMC, said: "Having someone of Barry’s calibre and experience on board is another big coup for BMC, following last month’s appointment of Sue Lawson.

"This senior appointment speaks volumes for our commitment to provide clients with industry-leading expertise across the broadest spectrum of channels, to enable them to manage all their printed and digital communications needs through BMC."

McPhillips added: "I've been genuinely impressed by BMC’s stunning recent growth and I’m thrilled to be joining such a progressive and ambitious team. At the heart of BMC’s success is its innovative approach to developing exciting solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of client communications and processes.

"There’s strong demand from clients to get more value from their marketing activities and operations. I‘ll be working closely with existing and new clients to help them generate higher revenues and gain deeper customer loyalty.

"Our solutions will use customer insight to develop relevant offers and messages, and creative execution to individualise campaigns and technology to improve the co-ordination and management of multiple marketing channels."

In addition to his decade with Communisis, McPhillips has more than two decades’ senior client and agency side experience, spanning advertising, marketing and creative services roles. Much of his early career was spent with advertising giant TBWA.
