Avantika buys India's first Océ 6160 press

Avantika Printers, which calls itself as a major believer of Canon Océ products, has bought India's first OcéVarioprint 6160 Ultra line mono-colour press.

The announcement was made during the first day of Pamex 2011. Based on Océ Gemini instant Duplex technology, this duplex comes with 600x1200dpi resolution and can output 17 A4 pages every minute.

Canon Océ claims that this is the fastest duplex printer in its class. M N Pandey, Avantika Printers said that the reason he opted for the 6160 was it’s speed, quality, consistency and above all flexibility. "Presently I am running nine-lakh impressions per month, which I plan to double in the next three years with the existing machine. At the present speed of the machine, I should be able to fulfill that, but should I need to up the speed, I just have to ask for the speed-increase dongle, and I can double the speed too."

Apart from showcasing its recently launched VP 7010 press, Canon also launched Océ ColorWave 300 multifunction thermal inkjet wide-format printer. The ColorWave is a multifunctional colour printer with integrated scanner and 600x600dpi print-scan resolution.
