Ashford Colour Press aims to boost competitiveness with SolPrint MIS

Specialist book printer Ashford Colour Press (ACP) has recently installed a SolPrint Management Information System (MIS) from software developer I-teba.

Gosport-based ACP, which was founded as a digital house in 1980 before expanding into litho print, chose the system for its affinity with sheet-fed book manufacturing workflows.

SolPrint's ability to generate accurate quotes also proved decisive. Customer services manager Eddie Oliver said: "With contract pricing we are able to manage all of our clients' needs and guarantee that the price they are charged is exactly what we agreed."

According to I-teba, the MIS offered good JDF connectivity with ACP's KBA and Heidelberg presses.

Rob Hutcheson, managing director of 110-staff ACP, said: "While many systems offered similar features, none matched the ability to create a customer portal, manage contract pricing, integrated scheduling and accounts to provide Ashford Colour Press with an effective ERP. This can only improve our competitive position."

SolPrint will be among many MIS systems on display at IntertechPira's MIS 2008 show at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham next week.
