Archant continues restructure with divisional mergers

Newspaper publisher Archant has continued its recent structural changes, merging a number of divisions.

Archant Regional, which has been operating with specific divisions for Norfolk, Suffolk and Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire, will now be merged into Archant Anglia.

The company's current managing director of Archant Lifestyle, Johnny Hustler, will be given responsibility for the newly named business.

Meanwhile Archant Norfolk managing director Stephan Phillips has decided to take early retirement and Archant Suffolk, Herts and Cambs managing director Stuart McCreery will leave the company.

Current Archant Specialist managing director Miller Hogg will take over from Hustler at an expanded Archant Lifestyle, which now includes Archant South West and Archant KOS Media as well as its existing divisions Archant Life, Archant Specialist and Archant Dialogue.

Finally the London newspaper and magazine businesses will be combined into a single entity, Archant London and will be led by Enzo Testa, who is currently leader of the London newspaper business.

Chief executive Adrian Jeakings said: "We are living through a time of unprecedented change and increasing competition in the media industry. Our future growth depends on our ability to respond rapidly and cost-effectively to our customers’ evolving needs. These structural changes will help us do this better and faster."

Last month it announced that 30 employees would be made redundant as part of a cutback on its printing.
