The project included a 36pp booklet printed on M-reals 150gsm Galerie Gloss Art by AGI Swindon. The booklet consisted of four 8pp gatefold sections with a 4pp stitched cover.
AGI Birmingham produced the special envelope-style Digipak with a clear Digipak tray attached to the centre panel. The four-colour, gloss finish pack was then folded in four flaps and sealed with velcro.
All the packs were fulfilled, shrinkwrapped and over-labelled by Sonopress, at its Wednesbury fulfilment site close to AGI Birmingham in the West Midlands.
AGI Media European communications manager Tricia Stanley said: Although this was a complex job, we have expertise in this area. And because we were able to produce both the Digipak and the booklet it ensured continuity throughout the product.
AGI Birmingham has also recently packaged 235,000 of RS Components UK CD-ROM catalogue using its DiscBox Slider. And AGI Swindon printed the accompanying 490,000 promotional 4pp four-colour booklets, 82,000 of which were automatically inserted into DiscBox Slider packs.
According to AGI Media, the environmentally friendly two-piece card, even once shrinkwrapped, weighs less than 60gsm, meaning it can claim the minimum-mailing tariff.
AGI Media is part of US-based MeadWestvaco, which has annual sales of 5.2bn ($8bn) and employs 30,000 people in 33 countries.
