Farnborough-based Midas Press has completed its investment in Agfa pre-press kit with the installation of an Apogee workflow and two Sherpa digital colour proofers.
The 300,000 "second phase" spend comes 18 months after the company installed its second Agfa Galileo platesetter. Digital plate production at the company has been increased to 99%.
It installed its first Agfa Galileo over two years ago. "It produced almost all our plates, so a second machine became necessary to keep production going," said Midas systems manager Terry Copeland.
Last year the company also installed a six-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster 102 CD along with stronger networking and storage facilities.
Midas Press has a turnover of around 12m, and employs 100 staff.
Its customers include British Airways, Sothebys, Laura Ashley, Este Lauder and Vodafone.
