Agfa opts for direct sales strategy for Jeti in the UK

Agfa has decided on a direct sales strategy for its recently-acquired Jeti range of wide-format printers in the UK.

To support the new product line it has appointed two sales people, one for the north and one for the south.

Peter Armitage will cover the north, while Roger Sherratt will handle the south; both have moved internally within Agfa, previously having sold CTP.

They will report to Agfa UK wide-format inkjet account manager Steve Collins.

Their first task will be to visit the UK's existing Jeti customers, of which there are 15 in the UK running a total of 20 machines.

Collins added that despite the hiatus following Gandi Innovations move into bankruptcy protection and the subsequent acquisition of the business by Agfa there were a number of sales that were close to completion.

He said he expected strong interest at Ipex, where the firm will show two Jeti machines, one of which will be the recently launched 1224 UV HDC.

Agfa is in the process of establishing its sales strategy for Jeti worldwide. Decisions are being made on a country-by-country basis about dealer or direct sales.
