A success for Duplo's London Calling II

Finishing kit supplier, Duplo, has said its London Calling II event held at the Tate Modern last week (6-8 October) was the best open house in its 35-year history.

The show, supported by Finishing Alliance partners Freidheim International and Renz, saw a 25% increase in visitors in comparison with last year’s London Calling.

Following this year’s success, the company already plans to hold another London Calling in 2011. Peter Jolly, marketing director at Duplo, said:: "Duplo is looking to expand the brand so in the future we may even have a Manchester Calling."

Over the course of two days the event attracted over 200 visitors from 127 businesses. Duplo made two sales including a Duplo/Renz partnership sale of the Renz 340 - a semi automatic punching machine and ECL 360 electric wire closer system to L&S Printing.

Jolly said: "I think the success of London Calling II is down to a combination of reasons. Many people were curious to see how a print finishing event could be held at such a prestigious venue. They were also drawn by the opportunity to see a wide range of print-related equipment in one space."
