WHAT An attention-grabbing annual report designed to engage shareholders. The project consisted of an interim report and a report and accounts booklet.
WHO Technology firm OMG (Oxford Metrics Group) worked with Birmingham-based Z3 Design Studio and printer Taylor Bloxham.
WHERE Delivered to OMG shareholders.
HOW The 16pp interim report was produced as a folded broadsheet. It was printed outside in three colours: resistor oxidry dense black; green; and pewter silver. Its front cover also featured metallic green cylinder blocked foil. The A4 60pp report and account booklet was split into two sections. Its introduction was printed in four colours plus pewter silver and the account section was printed in resistor oxidry black and pewter silver. Both products were printed using Fedrigoni’s FCS-accredited Splendourgel range and vegetable-based inks on B1 Heidelberg presses.
WOW Taylor Bloxham worked closely with design agency Z3. The report’s slick design made use of OMG’s branding and colours and both designer and printer went to extra lengths to ensure the job conveyed the technology firm’s image. The products were linked through a simple use of colour, which gave the piece impact and created brand consistency. The job won the financial statements category at Fedrigoni’s 2008 Top Applications Awards and demonstrates the benefits of client, designer and printer working closely.
