Xerox launches DocuColor 8080 digital press

Xerox has unveiled the latest addition to its DocuColor family of digital production printers with the launch of the DocuColor 8080.

The 80ppm digital press is designed to cater for a range of jobs that include direct mail, booklet production, marketing collateral and calendars.

The printer, which can output onto substrates up to 300gsm, features a low gloss dry ink that Xerox claims offers a smooth matt-like finish to marketing materials, helping to mirror offset print quality.

Xerox's latest machine also includes its Automated Color Quality Suite (ACQS), which is a set of software tools driven by the printer's inline spectrophotometer. According to Xerox, this helps to automate colour management tasks with minimal operator involvement.

Kevin O’Donnell, graphic communications marketing manager at Xerox UK, said: "Our focus is to help customers produce more jobs, reduce costs and grow their business. The DocuColor 8080 was built with this in mind.

"Technology like the DocuColor 8080 gives printers the power to expand capabilities, meet production demands, strengthen relationships with customers and capture more revenue."

Xerox also offers a variety of finishing options for the DocuColor 8080 that include stacking, punching, coil binding, and booklet making.

The DocuColor 8080 Digital Press is available in the UK and Ireland for order taking next month with installations starting in September.
