Xaar Electron and Proton heads to power press launches at Fespa Digital

Xaar to give a European debut to its Electron and Proton printhead technology when a raft of manufacturers showcase Xaar-enabled presses at Fespa Digital next month.

The four-colour hybrid roll and sheet-fed Yat Fung Infiniti printer and the Rodin HiJet printers are expected to make debuts at the show.

Xaar introduced the Electron and Proton printheads, designed for wide- and grand-format printers, in February, raising the company's number of printhead models to eight.

Both models are designed for the production of indoor and outdoor graphics printed on a variety of materials including: paper, PVC, film, mesh fabrics and vinyl.

Mark Alexander, marketing director of Xaar, said: "We continue to invest in developing our printhead range to drive inkjet quality and productivity, not only in wide- and grand-format printing, but in the emerging and growth markets of labelling, packaging and ceramics."

Other Xaar-enabled machines making global debuts at the show include the Atlantic Zeiser Gamma 70 print module, the One Solution Vega UV flatbed printer and mprint's SP2 100.

Agfa, Grapo, HP, Mutoh, Rodin and Teckwin will also be showcasing printers with Xaar-integrated printheads.

Xaar chief executive Ian Dinwoodie, told PrintWeek the group is focused on utilising its new Electron and Proton technology to help regain market share in Asia.

Fespa Digital takes place at the RAI Centre in Amsterdam, Holland, 12 -14 May 2009.
