Watkiss praises quality of Northprint visitors

Finishing kit manufacturer Watkiss Automation said the quality of visitors at this year's Northprint was improved from previous years.

The Northprint exhibition went ahead last week, despite questions over its viability in a troublesome financial climate and just eight months after Drupa.

Exhibitor numbers were down on previous years and visitor numbers were expected to do the same. However Watkiss communications manager Jo Watkiss said her company actually saw more people this year.

She added: "There didn't appear to be the tyre kickers you often get this year, everybody was there for a reason. I guess people that had no reason to go didn't bother."

Visitors to the stand were particularly interested in the PowerSquare booklet maker, the Document Finishing System for digital print applications, and short-run perfect binders, such as the Lambind 420.
