Jerry Kennelly, founder of Stockbyte and Stockdisc and Tweak.com, said that his new venture, Tweak Printer, was the first W2P solution to offer both a storefront and content for no up-front development costs, giving SME printers an opportunity to get into the W2P market.
"Customers expect to be able to use the web for every aspect of their lives, but SME printers can’t afford the massive investment needed to create or purchase a W2P solution," said Kennelly. "Current vendors charge high rates for what is essentially just a technology solution. Tweak Printer is a white label W2P portal that gives that technology, but also uniquely offers design content as well, at no cost to the printer."
Customers can log onto the portal and choose from more than 500,000 customisable content options, including logos, photographs and slogans, as well as uploading content themselves, to produce 60 print products including newsletters, brochures and large-format display. Tweak Printer takes a cut of every PDF that is generated and sent to the printer.
"The user wants more control over design these days and we have given them a free and flexible way to do that," said Kennelly. "The printer benefits by having an out of the box solution, with all content and technology, for no web development costs, and from being able to charge a premium for the print as the costly and lengthy design process has been bypassed for the client."
The portal launches in August but printers can register their interest from this week through the tweak.com website.
