Spandex adds Epson SC-S70600 to wide-format portfolio

Spandex has added Epson's wide-format SureColor SC-S70600 to its worldwide reseller portfolio.

The 1,626mm wide roll-fed printer, launched at Drupa alongside the SC-S50600, is Epson’s first to support both white and metallic inks at such a size.

It prints at 1,440dpi using a Micro Piezo TFP printhead and Epson’s Ultrachrome GSX inks, which has eight colours in its set: CMYK plus light magenta, light cyan, light black and orange.

The 10-colour SC-S70600 has additional white and metallic inks, and Spandex claims that both the eight- and 10-colour models achieve ultrasmooth tonal gradations thanks to the use of light inks.

The eight-colour model can hit speeds of 26.8sqm/hr in high speed mode, and the machine can run at a maximum of 4sqm/hr with metallic inks enabled.

The SC-S70600 is targeted at specialist sign makers and professional display printers using special metallic effects on clear film, vinyl, canvas, photographic paper and a range of banner substrates up to 1,626mm wide. It is also suited to high quality photo printing, interior decoration and point-of-sale display, with a three-year lightfast guarantee without lamination.

A spokesperson for Spandex said: "Spandex has chosen to include the SureColor SC-S70600 into its already extensive print equipment portfolio as it's the perfect answer to today's fast-paced and highly demanding wide format print market.

"Due to its superb image quality, fast production speeds and environmentally friendly properties it provides the perfect printing solution for graphic professionals taking their first steps into the digital printing market or existing print businesses looking to expand their production capacity.

"The addition of the SC-S70600 to our portfolio is in line with the great customer experience of other Epson outdoor durable print solutions such as the SC-S30600. With the ability to print metallic and white simultaneously, we are confident the new SC-S70600 will open up an even greater range of print applications."

Spandex’s sales representatives and technical engineers have received full training by Epson across the range of machines on the distributor’s portfolio to guarantee the best service for its customers and expert guidance when buying an Epson machine.
