Silverpoint Press bags two Asian Print Awards 2010

Silverpoint Press has been awarded a Gold and a Bronze award at the eighth Asian Print Awards. The award function was held on 24 November 2010 at Macau, China.

The Gold was awarded  in the embellishment category for Rajguru booklet and the Bronze was awarded in the postcards and greeting cards category for the Rohit Prerna wedding card.

Saifee Makasarwala, COO of the company said: "We lay a lot of emphasis on managing the colour of the print jobs we do. It is a standardised process right from capturing images to pre-media and later, printing. Apart from this, choosing the correct paper accentuates the desired colour and sharpness."

More than 60% of printing at Silverpoint is done on specialty paper. The company’s art of printing is visible in the anomalous approach towards print technology which includes etching of paper, an array of fabrication and finishing techniques, innovative concepts and designs among others. The company was the pioneer for printing on uncoated paper in India.

In May 2010, Silverpoint had bagged won two Bronze awards  at the 2010 Sappi Trading Printers of the Year. The winning entries were Inspiration booklet for K Raheja Corp in the brochure printing category and The Legend of Scorpio catalogue for Haymarket SAC publishing in the catalogue printing category.

Apart from Silverpoint the other Indian printing firms which won the Award in various categories included Mumbai-based Jak Printers and Prince Digi Graphics, Hyderabad-based Pragati Offset and Kochi-based S T Reddiar. 

At the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Macau, some 400 guests graced the evening networking with the industry heavyweights from Asia. They were on hand to see India and Thailand battle for the second place honours with Indian scoring 14 wins and Thailand trailing closely behind with 13. China topped the awards tally with a total of 26 wins.
