SignsDisplay.com first UK firm to invest in Agfa Jeti 3020 flatbed

Hull-based signage business SignsDisplay.com has become the first UK firm to invest in the Agfa Jeti 3020 Titan flatbed printer.

The 20-year-old company, which specialises in the production of estate agent and retail display signage, has said the new machine has boosted both quality and productivity.

According to SignsDisplay.com managing director Mike Hitchman, the addition of the Titan machine enables the company to meet "customer's changing demands".

He added: "We chose the Jeti Titan for a number of reasons. Firstly, for its size - it has a print area of 3x2m - then for its productivity - outputting quality prints at almost 200sqm an hour.

"We opted for the 36 print heads version - 32 printing colour plus four white - but in the future we have the option to upgrade the machine’s performance if we feel it is necessary. We could also increase the number of printheads to 40 or even 48 when required."

The upgradeable Jeti Titan starts with a 16 head unit that can output up to 101sqm an hour and can be specified with white, light colours, orange and additional CMYK heads to the 48 head configuration.

Last year, Agfa added a roll-to-roll option that supports a web-width of 3.2m and a range of coated and uncoated substrate rolls up to 30m in length.

Hitchman added: "I am delighted to have the Titan on board. The installation has gone very smoothly and the printer was up and running in just a couple of days.

"Agfa has shown that they understand our business and I look forward to building a long-term relationship with them."
