Print Yorkshire aims to boost profile with new PR partnership

Print Yorkshire is aiming to boost the profile of the print and packaging sector in the Yorkshire and Humber region after teaming up with Leeds-based PR agency Ptarmigan Bell Pottinger.

The partnership is charged with improving the visibility of the region's print sector, which contributes £1.7bn to the area's economy, employing nearly 18,000 people.

Robert McClements, chief executive of Print Yorkshire, said: "The success of Yorkshire print and packaging firms at the recent PrintWeek Awards demonstrates the skill and expertise we have in the region.

"As we strive to support businesses locally following renewed funding from Yorkshire Forward, there are a number of exciting programmes that we are involved with."

The Yorkshire print body supports both training and development in the region, as well as improving the ability for printers to network.

Ptarmigan Bell Pottinger director Nathan Lane said Print Yorkshire plays "a vital role to the sector in Yorkshire and Humber as the voice of print".

He added: "We will leverage the numerous projects they are involved in via media engagement in Yorkshire and beyond utilising the wealth of contacts we have as a leading communications consultancy."
