Print Innovations is gearing up for a record show later this month.

Organiser Easyfairs said the event, which is co-located with Packaging Innovations, was on "a major upward trajectory".

Also running alongside the show are Packtech, Contract Pack, Ecopack and Labelling Innovations, which is a new feature for 2013.

It takes place on 27-28 February at Birmingham's NEC. PrintWeek's preview of the event will appear in our Packaging Report on 22 February.

Some 4,550 visitors attended in 2012, and Easyfairs said pre-registration was up year-on-year. Exhibitors include HP, DuPont, Esko, Friedheim International, Roland DG and Esko.

There will be a Question Time-style "Big print debate" on 28 February, sponsored by KBA and chaired by PrintWeek contributing editor Jo Francis. The topic is whether digital printing has large-scale potential in packaging.

The panel includes Karen Graley, packaging and reprographics manager at Waitrose; Unilever global packaging capability leader for printing and decoration Matt Daniels; John Charnock, director of Print Research International; and Will Parker of Reflex Labels.

Reflex Labels was the first user of Indigo’s Omnius packaging web press, and the company signed for a Landa Nanography press at Drupa.

The show programme also includes a series of seminars billed as "LearnShops" featuring speakers from a raft of brand owners.

Other speakers include Julia Cole, marketing manager at HP; Gerry Mulvaney, European sales manager at Landa Digital; and Chris Baker, vice president at digital die-cutting manufacturer Highcon.
