Newsworld buys Screen kit for US printing of Daily Mail

Newsworld Corporation has announced that Pindar-owned New York printer AlphaGraphics has been chosen to print copies of the Daily Mail in New York.

The company announced in July this year that it had signed a contract with Associated Newspapers to produce the Daily Mail for ex-pats living across the Atlantic.

A Screen Truepress Jet520 machine is currently being installed at the New York printer, which will begin producing the newspaper from January next year.

Newsworld has bought the machine and is now looking to add further titles to its New York arsenal.
According to Brian Filler, managing director at Screen in the UK, this installation is likely to be the first of many.

He said: "This technology seems to open people's minds; they start thinking when they see it. We expect to see many more installed around the world."

The Screen Truepress Jet520 features two print engines and prints at 128 metres per minute that, according to Screen, is the equivalent of 1,200 48 page newspapers an hour.
