The company is pitching the wide-format machine at companies producing sportswear applications and soft signage products such as flags, retail point of sale and exhibition graphics.

The TS34-1800A is a 1.8m machine that can print onto a variety of materials up to 32sqm an hour at resolutions of 540 x 720dpi.

Distributed by Hybrid Services, the machine can also print in six-colour operation at reduced speeds of 17.7sqm an hour at the same resolution.

The new Mimaki machine features the manufacturer's Uninterruptive Ink Supply System (UISS) function.

This enables the setting of two ink cartridges per colour in four-colour mode so when an ink cartridge is depleted, the system switches automatically to the second cartridge of the same colour.

Available from early 2012, the TS34-1800A also features an optional bulk ink System (MBIS), which provides a large volume continuous ink supply with two litre ink sacks.

Duncan Jefferies, marketing manager at Hybrid Services, said the TS34-1800A delivers a "competitively priced solution at a popular width and with powerful production capabilities".

"The response from our specialist textile resellers suggests they’re already confident the dye sub market will very quickly adopt this machine for volume output," he added.
