The DP 8700 XL press can print in formats up to 330x1,016mm and, according to the French manufacturer, can produce quality comparable to offset presses, a claim also made for its predecessor, the DP 60 Pro. The JDF-compatible press features 3,600dpi ‘photo quality’ output and 270lpi FM screening.
The €180,000 press, which is being shown on the stand of the manufacturer’s German representative, Igepa (A3/A60), can print onto paper substrates up to 350gsm as well as materials such as plastic, polycarbonate, vinyl and PET.
The company says it has already sold two DP 8700 XLs to printing businesses in India, including one to Bio Card, a software provider with clients in India, Africa and Middle East.
