Leaderform invests in second Truepress

Direct mail company Leaderform has bought its second Screen (Hall 9, stand A40) Truepress Jet520ZZ at drupa following the "outstanding success" of its first machine.

The high-speed version of the Truepress Jet520 duplex press will be installed at Leaderform’s Verona offices by distributor Atlantic Zeiser.

Leaderform decided to invest in an additional machine after seeing significant growth in orders following the installation of its first Truepress Jet520ZZ last year. The company said the machines will be integrated into its "aggressive growth plan" for the next five years, which will see its toner-based print technology replaced with inkjet to reduce production costs, improve quality and increase capacity.

Leaderform chairman Frederico Cozza said: "We chose a second Truepress Jet520ZZ from Screen because it gives us the ability to handle large volumes of fully-variable, full-colour print at speed. Now, customers want same-day or 24-hour turnaround and the machine gives us flexibility to respond quickly to short deadlines."

The Truepress Jet520ZZ prints at a rate of 220m/min, equivalent to 4m pages daily and can print on untreated paper, offering a wider substrate choice for customers. Cozza credited the "stable, long-life printheads", which also feature automatic cleaning and testing, with maximising return on investment and reducing costs.

More than 400 Truepress Jet520ZZ continuous-feed colour inkjet printers are in production worldwide, controlled by Screen Equios workflow to ensure maximum quality of complex colour pages at full engine speed.

Screen Europe president Kees Mulder said: "This investment in a second Jet520ZZ will help drive its business expansion further."
