James McNaughton sponsors first carbon neutral football match

Paper merchant James McNaughton has supported the first carbon neutral football match in the UK by donating 12,000 sheets of its Cocoon Gloss grade to create the match programme.

The game between Plymouth Argyle FC and Newcastle United FC will take place on 19 April with all the carbon output being offset through renewable energy projects, such as printing the programme on recycled paper.

Samantha Brown, James McNaughton communications manager, said: "We are delighted to have been able to support this project and we hope the match will encourage others to consider their impact on the environment."

Cocoon Gloss is available in weights from 90-350gsm. It is a coated paper manufactured from 50% recycled de-inked FSC certified pulp.
